Terms of use

1. Who we are
Epitome is published by Arthus Josephine, micro-entreprise (French sole trader) registered under number 108618067, registered office 91 avenue de Toulon, 13005 MARSEILLE, FRANCE. Contact: contact@epitome-app.com.
By installing and using Epitome, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
2. The service
Epitome is an Android app for managing tasks, calendars and planning. It runs on your device and syncs your content across your devices through an account.
An account is required. It is created with an email address, to which a one-time code is sent — there is no password to choose or remember.
3. Your account
- You must be 15 or older to create an account.
- You are responsible for access to the mailbox attached to your account: it is what grants access to the app.
- An account is personal and not intended to be shared.
- You may delete it at any time — see Delete my account.
4. The content you create
It is yours. We claim no ownership over it. You grant us only the technical permission to store it and transmit it between your devices, for the sole purpose of running the service.
You are responsible for what you put in it and for its lawfulness.
5. The subscription
What it includes
An Epitome Premium subscription unlocks the following. The right-hand column shows what you get without a subscription — Epitome remains usable for free, with limits.
| With a subscription | Without |
|---|---|
| Unlimited subscribed calendars | 1 calendar |
| Unlimited task lists | 3 lists, inbox included |
| Unlimited work profiles | 1 profile |
| Unlimited planning | 3 assistant runs per week |
| Plan up to a month ahead | 1 or 3 days |
| Customisable assistant settings | Defaults only, not editable |
| Task start conditions predecessors, earliest start date | Not available |
| Statistics | Not available |
| Ten assignable colours | 5 colours |
This list may change: features may be added to the subscription. What binds us is what the app presents at the time of your purchase. No feature already included in your subscription will be taken away from you during a period you have paid for.
When a subscription ends, nothing is deleted. Anything beyond the limits above is paused, not erased: your extra lists, calendars and profiles stay where they are and light up again exactly as they were if you subscribe again.
Price, term and renewal
- Prices are those shown in the app at the time of purchase, in your currency and inclusive of tax according to your country. They are set in Google Play.
- The subscription is offered monthly or yearly and renews automatically at the end of each term unless cancelled.
- Payment is taken by Google Play. We neither see nor store your payment details.
- Google notifies you of any price change in advance, and it applies only after your consent or from the following term, according to Google Play's rules.
Cancelling
Cancel at any time from Google Play → Subscriptions.
Cancelling does not cut the subscription off immediately. It runs to the end of the period you already paid for: cancel on the 2nd and you keep access until the 30th. No further payment is taken.
When the subscription ends, nothing is deleted: your content stays intact, and anything beyond the free tier's limits is simply paused until you subscribe again.
Free trial
Where a free trial is offered, it converts into a paid subscription at the end unless you cancel first. A trial can only be used once.
Right of withdrawal
If you live in the European Union, you are in principle entitled to a fourteen-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase.
By subscribing, you expressly request that performance of the service begin immediately, before that period expires, and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal as performance proceeds, in accordance with article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code.
Refunds are handled by Google under the Google Play refund rules. You can also write to us.
6. What you agree not to do
- Circumvent the free tier's limits or the subscription mechanism.
- Decompile, disassemble or modify the app, except as permitted by law.
- Automate abnormal use of the service, or attempt to disrupt it.
- Use the service unlawfully, or to infringe anyone else's rights.
7. Availability
We do our best to keep the service available, without guaranteeing uninterrupted continuity. Outages may occur for maintenance, updates, or because of a third party we depend on.
Epitome works offline: your data is on your device, and syncing resumes as soon as the network is back. An outage on our servers does not stop you using the app.
We nonetheless recommend keeping your own backups of what matters to you.
8. Liability
The app is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, our liability shall not exceed the amounts you have paid us over the preceding twelve months.
Nothing in these terms removes the rights the law guarantees you as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity.
9. Ending the service
We may suspend or close an account in the event of a serious breach of these terms, after informing you where possible.
Were we to discontinue the service, we would give you two months notice and time to retrieve your content.
10. Changes
These terms may change. Any substantial change will be announced in the app or by email before it takes effect.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of France. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first; you may also use a consumer mediator free of charge. Failing that, the competent courts will be those designated by the law applicable to consumers.
